Meet Theresa
AOMT-C® Certified Myofunctional Therapist Buteyko Breathing Instructor
Hi, I am Theresa!
I am a Certified Orofacial Myofunctional Therapist and Buteyko Breathing Instructor.
After more than 20 years as a dental hygienist, I have seen firsthand how frustrating chronic jaw pain and oral dysfunction can be. I also know that frustration personally. I struggled with jaw pain and clenching for years, and despite trying traditional approaches, including orthodontics and night guards, I wasn’t finding the relief I needed.
Myofunctional therapy made a significant difference in my own jaw pain, and that experience continues to inspire the work I do today.
My approach is personal, collaborative, and centered around your individual needs. I believe in taking the time to listen, understand what’s contributing to your symptoms, and working together toward meaningful, lasting improvements.
My goal is simple: to help you feel better, breathe better, and improve your quality of life.
A Bit More About Me
My career in dentistry started as a dental lab technician, creating dental restorations. From there, I became a registered dental hygienist and spent more than 20 years caring for patients and building relationships.
Over time, I became more interested in how tongue posture, oral muscle function, and breathing all work together. Than curiosity eventually led me to pursue additional training in:
Certified Orofacial Myofunctional Therapist (AOMT-C®) through the Academy of Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy
Accredited Buteyko Breathing Instructor through Buteyko Clinic International
Advanced training in TMD Considerations through The Breathe Institute
My background in dentistry, combined with this specialized training, allows me to provide more personalized, comprehensive care.
Outside of work, I love spending time outdoors, whether it’s kayaking, camping under the stars, or simply watching birds. Being in nature is one of my favorite ways to unwind and recharge.
