Meet Theresa
AOMT-CĀ® Certified Myofunctional Therapist AccreditedBreathing Instructor
Hi, I am Theresa.
I am a Certified Myofunctional Therapist and Accredited Breathing Instructor.
As a dental hygienist, I cared for patients dealing with jaw pain, a challenge I know personally. After more than 20 years in the dental field, I experienced firsthand how frustrating chronic jaw pain and dysfunction can be. Traditional approaches like orthodontics and night guards didnāt help me, but myofunctional therapy did. That transformation inspires my work every day.
My approach is always collaborative, compassionate, and centered on your unique needs. I believe that trust, connection, and clear guidance are essential to meaningful change. My goal is to help you breathe better, sleep better, and feel better in your daily life.
A Bit More About Me
My professional path began as a dental lab technician, creating dental restorations. From there, I became a registered dental hygienist, where I spent over 2 decades providing high-quality care and building strong patient relationships.
As I continued my career, I became increasingly fascinated by how oral posture, muscle function, and breathing influence overall health. That curiosity led me to pursue specialized training in:
Certification in Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy through the Academy of Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy
Breathing Re-education through Buteyko Clinic International
Advanced training in TMD Considerations through The Breathe Institute
My training allows me to blend oral muscle therapy with breathwork in a way that supports lasting functional change.
When I am not with patients, youāll likely find me outdoors kayaking, camping under the stars, or watching birds. Nature refreshes me, and I bring that calm enthusiasm to my work with you.
